OUR Purpose

We exist to spread hope throughout our city by creating multiple opportunities for our neighbors to see, hear, and respond to the good news of Jesus.

OUR IDENTITY

WE ARE FAMILY

We are adopted children of God through Christ who live and care for one another as a family. We disciple, encourage, and hold each other accountable as we form gospel-shaped lives together. We do this through regular worship gatherings and discipleship groups.

WE ARE WORSHIPPERS

The chief end of man is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. While we love to gather each week to sing, pray, and hear from God's Word together, true worship is so much more than that. It's surrendering every part of our lives to the will of God that He might be preeminent.

WE ARE MISSIONARIES

We have been entrusted with the most important message in human history - that sinful humanity can be restored to a relationship with God through faith in Jesus. We believe it is the responsibility of every Christian to share this hope with those who are far from God.

WE ARE SERVANTS

We are servants of God who serve others as a way of life. Jesus taught the disciples that he "came to serve and not be served." All those who follow Jesus are called to serve in the same humility. We do whatever needs doing, whenever it’s needed, and wherever it leads us.

WE ARE LEARNERS

We are disciples of Jesus who take responsibility for our own spiritual formation and the formation of others. Jesus has called us to follow his ways and obey his commands, while also teaching others these truths. Every believer is called to be a theologian who studies, considers, and knows God's Word.

EPHESIANS 3:20-21

Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

Affirmation of Faith

Hope City Church is a Southern Baptist family of faith and we refer to the SBC Faith and Message as our Statement of Faith.

Read the F&M
  • The Bible is the Word of God, fully inspired and without error in the original manuscripts.
  • There is one true, good, and living God who eternally exists in three persons—the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  • God created men and women in His image and created all things for His glory.
  • All have sinned and rebelled against God.
  • Jesus came to earth, lived a perfect life, and died an atoning death—conquering sin, Satan, and death by His resurrection.
  • God alone is the Author of Salvation.
  • The Holy Spirit gives gifts to those who are in Christ.
  • The church consists of all who have trusted Jesus for their eternal salvation.
  • Heaven and hell are real places.
  • Jesus Christ will one day return to establish His kingdom.

Hope City is elder-led, deacon-supported, and congregationally accountable.
